The Municipal Agriculture Office continuously provides rice seeds assistance to the town’s farmers under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA). These programs aim to achieve three main purposes: (a) to achieve food security for the whole municipality, (b) to increase food productivity and (c) to generate income for San Rafael farmers. One of the ongoing programs of the Municipal Agriculture Office is the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Assistance (RCEF seeds) that started on Monday, June 13, 2022 and still on going. In view of the current situation on the Covid 19 pandemic, Mayor Cipriano D. Violago, Jr. ordered all government workers to ensure the cleanliness of all buildings and facilities in the municipal government compound. All visitors are checked and provided with alcohol and hand sanitizers upon entry. Offices and comfort rooms are also supplied with disinfectant sprays and soap. Barangay Chairmen are also given directives to monitor persons who came from abroad and ensure the cleanliness of surroundings. These actions are to ensure a Covid 19 Free San Rafael.
Monitoring Evaluation of Local Level Plan of Implementation Protocol (MELLPI PRO) is the new tool from National Nutrition Council that will serve as an upgraded system to determine nutrition improvement action at the local level and its progress in achieving reduction of wasting, stunting and overweight among children. It will also measure the quantity and quality of the performance of nutrition workers in the municipality. It is simpler and easier way of monitoring and evaluating nutrition program implementation. Scholarship Program 2019-2020 March 1, 2020 The Scholarship Program of the Municipality of San Rafael, “Iskolar ng Bayan”, for the School Year 2019-2020 have provided assistance to 760 beneficiaries. The program provides financial support to qualified college students from San Rafael. The grantees were subjected to a selection process whereby applicants were given qualifying examination to determine who will be given the assistance. They were also required to submit documents such as school records, certification from the Barangay Chairman as evidence of their residence. The grantees were given Php 4,000 each.
