Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Kristina Anne A. Bisquera launched the 48th Nutrition Month on Sunday, July 3, 2022 with a motorcade around the town of San Rafael, Bulacan from which 34 barangays in the municipality participated. Barangay Nutrition Councils competed for the Best Float Award.
A Poster making contest, whose participants are malnourished, underweight and overweight children four to five years of age was held last Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the 2nd floor SB Conference Hall of the Municipal Building of San Rafael, as the second activity for the 48th Nutrition Month Celebration.
Municipal Vice Mayor Marilyn S. Veneracion gave an inspirational message regarding the importance of health and nutrition to the town’s population especially for the children. Newly-elected councilor Joel Veneracion, Chairman of the Committee on Health and Nutrition, also attended the program and thanked the parents and children for participating in the poster making contest.
Municipal Health Officer Dra. Maria Cristina S. Vergel de Dios together with the Municipal Nutrition Office lead the celebration of the town’s Nutrition Month with the theme: “New Normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang gawan ng Solusyon”.
Other nutrition programs set for the Nutrition Month will be Pump for Life (Lactating Mothers), Dance Contest (Overweight and Obese Children 3 to 5 years of age), Cooking Contest (Parents of Underweight, Stunted, Wasted), Spoken Poetry (Pregnant Women), Innovation Contest (Barangay Nutrition Council).
Awarding of the winners for each contest will be on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
